Ted Christopher To Be Honored At Final Go Round For Go-Karts At Woodstock Fair

The Ted Christopher legend started at the Woodstock Fair, when Christopher and his brother Mike dazzled the field with many wins in the go-karts.

Because this is the final year of karting at the Fair, it is appropriate that the Tri-State Kart Club drivers pay tribute to Christopher, who went on to bigger and better things, especially at Stafford Speedway where he became the track’s all-time winner.

The Ted Christopher Memorial will be one of the highlights of Fair Weekend.

There will be many money races in the four days, but none will be more prestigious that the TC Memorial on Monday.

Flathead flat karts are eligible in the twin 13 lapper, The field wll be inverted after the first 13 laps. The winner of the first race will receive $200 that will be donated to the TC Memorial fund in the driver’s name. The winner of the second segment will be getting $300 to donate to the TC fund

There will also be a Senior Champ Clone Money race on Monday with a $300 guaranteed purse, There will be time trials, and the winner of the pole will chalk up $65 donated by Columbia Ford Kia.

There will be two money races on opening day Friday. The Al Cournoyer Box Stock Clone race will also offer $50 to the pole winner, sponsored by Black Dog Bar and Grill in Putnam.

A 30-lap Senior Outlaw money race also will take place Friday with a $250 guaranteed purse. The pole winner will grab $50 from Duraflex Race Bodies.

One of the Saturday highlights will be the Parent Family Run What You Brung 30-lapper. There will be no tech at the end of the race.

One of the longest races Saturday will be the Ed Cirri Memorial Senior Champ Animal Money race. The race will be 61 laps, to recognize the 61 years that the Tri-State Kart Club has raced at the Woodstock Fair.

On Sunday, the Senior Champ Flat Head money race will be one of the major events. The race will be contested in two 20-lap segments. The pole will pay $75 sponsored by Gates GMC Nissan and the guaranteed purse will be $900.

Sunday’s other major race will be the lo206 feature, with a $300 guaranteed purse. The pole winner will get $50 sponsored by Putnam Dodge Jeep.
