Up next for the Granite State Pro Stock Series is the 54th annual Star Classic at Star Speedway. Bobby Webber and his team have once again put together an exciting weekend of racing with the Granite State Pro Stock Series headlining the Full Fendered Friday portion of the event. The Vynorius Piledriving 100 will kick off with The Crazy Horse Racing race for the pole, followed by heat races and 100 laps of green flag racing. Last years race was won by Jimmy Renfrew JR despite a lap 25 trip into the turn four vegetation.

As the series heads for one of its most popular tracks, Joey Doiron leads the way in the championship hunt. The Berwick ME driver has been the model of consistency rattling off poles and top five finishes all season long. In 2018, Doiron stumbled late in the season and looks to not repeat that in 2019. He arrives at the Star classic fresh off a fourth place finish at the Rocky Ridge 150.

Last Years Champion Devin O’Connell comes to Star looking for his first win of the season. By this point last year the driver of car 43 was leading the points on the strength of two wins. This year, O’Connell is still looking for the kind of finishes that lead him to the 2018 series title.

Ray Christian III is the third driver contending for the championship. He and his Crazy Horse Racing team came into the season with high hopes. Unfortunately, 2019 has been a struggle and the finishes have not been what the team had hoped for. As the series heads for star, Christian hopes to turn his season around and possibly climb back into the championship hunt.

Many Drivers put the Epping NH oval at or near the top of their favorites list and one of those is Jeremy Davis. Davis has had a miserable second half of the season suffering parts failures at some of the biggest events of the season. He heads into Star looking for some redemption. In the 2018 Classic an incident took him out of contention when he had arguably the fastest car.

Todd Stone is another driver looking for redemption. A practice incident left the Middlebury VT driver with a wrecked race car and an early trip home. Stones team has fought the new car blues but a win at a race in Jennerstown PA has given the team a bit of momentum.

Jacob Dore is another driver who loves racing at star and brings his Dream Ride Racing Team to this weekends event. Dore has competed in several races in the Pro Stock this season and filled out his season with some races in a tour type modified. Dore has been using his racing efforts to raise money for the Special Olympics in 2019 and looks to donate the winners purse after this weekend.Other Drivers registered to compete are Rocky Ridge 150 fourth place finisher Luke Hinkley, New Market’s Jeremy Harclerode and second generation racer Jamie Wright, a 2019 regular at the Wiscassett speedway. Two time series champion Mike O’Sullivan has also filed his entry along with New England racing veteran Barry Gray and rookie sensation Jake Matheson.

Action is scheduled to begin at just before 7:00 with GSPSS time trials. Heat races and the Vynorius 100 will follow along with several of the Star weekly divisions.
