EPPING, N.H. — After a busy weekend at Star Speedway, Sam Rameau drove the Rameau Family Motorsports machine to a 12th place finish in the Tri Track Open Modified Series 100 on Saturday, May 22.
Rameau finished fourth in his qualifying heat, and ran inside and around the top-15 for much of the race. It wasn’t the finish that the team wanted, but Rameau maintains second in the championship standings, just eight points off the lead, with four races remaining.
“I was just really loose the whole time,” Rameau said. “The front of the car was so overpowered… we tried so hard to get the rear planted, but just couldn’t get it right. We’re going to go home, put it on the scales, evaluate what was wrong, and go to Seekonk Speedway with a better package.”
Rameau now will take over a month off from racing and compete next with Tri Track at Seekonk Speedway on Wednesday, June 30, for their annual $10,000 to win Open Wheel Wednesday.
