Eric Berndt Tops SK Mods At Speedbowl; Andrew Molleur, Evan Bourgeois Also Score Victories

Eric Berndt Tops SK Mods At Speedbowl; Evan Bourgeois Gets First SK Light Mod Win; Andrew Molleur Gets Second Straight In Late Models

Eric Berndt’s return to full-time competition at the New London-Waterford in 2022 has proved to be a winning endeavor.

Berndt, of Cromwell, scored his second victory in five events in the 60-lap SK Modified feature Saturday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.

It was the 19th career SK Modified victory at the Speedbowl for Berndt.

Anthony Flannery of East Hampton was second. Reigning SK Modified champion and current division points leader Todd Owen of Somers was third.

Evan Bourgeois of East Hampton scored his first career victory in the 25-lap SK Light Modified feature.

John O’Sullivan of Salem was second and Tom Abele Jr. of Norwich third.

A week after getting his first career Speedbowl Late Model division victory, Andrew Molleur continued adding to the total.

Molleur, of Shelton, got his second consecutive victory in the division’s 30-lap feature.

Ray Christian III of Uncasville was second and Charles Bailey III of Lisbon was third.

Tony Macrino of Waterford won the 25-lap Street Stock feature.
