Anthony Flannery Wins First SK Modified Feature At New London-Waterford Speedbowl

Anthony Flannery is no stranger to victory lane at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.

The East Hampton driver has 17 career wins in Late Model action at the historic bullring and 22 wins in Legends races. 

Saturday night he added his name to the win list in the track’s premier division. 

Flannery scored his first career SK Modified victory in the 35-lap feature for the division Saturday. 

Todd Owen of Somers was second and Eric Berndt of Cromwell third. 

In the 30-lap Late Model feature it was Ray Christian III of Uncasville scoring victory. 

Glen Thomas Jr. of West Bridgewater, Mass. was second and Andrew Molleur of Shelton third. 

Evan Bourgeois of East Haddam scored his second win of the season in the 25-lap SK Light Modified feature. 

Geoff Nooney of Southwick., Mass was second and Isaiah Newcomb of Plymouth, Mass. third. 

Brian Norman of Clinton topped the field in the 25-lap Street Stock feature. Tony Macrino of Waterford was second and Al Stone III of Durham third. 

Brody Monahan of Waterford won the 25-lap Legends feature. Jase Mongeon of Charlton, Mass. was second and Wade Oemcke of Terryville third. 

Ryan Lineman of Hope Valley, R.I. led the way in the 25-lap Open Street Stock feature. Adam Gray of Belchertown, Mass. was second and Chris Buffone of Belchertown, Mass. third.

  1. What’s amazing is the guy was racing after his crash on Friday. A square full right side, high velocity shot right into the wall. In the old days that how racers ended up in the hospital or worse. Credit the hans device and the way they construct the headrest for preventing a potentially life threatening neck injury.
