The return to full-time competition in 2022 at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl continued to be a fruitful endeavor for Eric Berndt Saturday.

Berndt topped the field in the 35-lap SK Modified feature Saturday at the Speedbowl.

It was the division leading sixth victory of the season for Berndt.

Reigning division champion Todd Owen of Somers was second. Anthony Flannery of East Hampton was third.

Owen, who has five SK Modified wins this year at Waterford, holds a 12-point lead over Berndt in the division standings with two events remaining this season.

Ray Christian III of Uncasville got his sixth win of 2022 in the 30-lap Late Model feature.

Charles Bailey III of Lisbon was second and Cory DiMatteo of Farmington, making his second start in the division, was third.

Evan Bourgeois of East Haddam scored his third victory of the season in the 25-lap SK Light Modified feature.

Sami Anderson of Wolcott was second and John O’Sullivan of Salem third.

Charles Beal of Ledyard topped the 25-lap Mini Stock feature. Christian Herman of North Branford topped the field in the 25-lap X-Car feature. Devin Tate of Preston won the 25-lap Super X-Car feature.

  1. first time i’ve had to wear a hoodie in several months. Chilly, but beautiful night, with fast lap times, and Great racing!

  2. Hillary 2024 says

Good hard racing in the modifieds last night. Pretty impressed with Sami Anderson. Started last finished second.

  3. Sami was amazing. At first I thought her dad was driving the car. Big improvement this year.

  4. Hillary 2024 says

Actually she’s been doing better than her dad this season. He’s been wrecking or spinning almost weekly.

  5. Neither Owen nor Flannery was happy with the extra-wide 11 car driven by the Bulldog Saturday night. Some emerging rivalries at the Bowl?

  6. Monkey Wrench says

Owen and Flannery crying no surprise, they are suppose to finish 1 and 2 every week.Just like Stafford, they have everything in there pockets.Everyone think about it.If you dont see it,YOUR BLIND
