The statement from Joe Gibbs Racing read: “It is with great sorrow that Joe Gibbs Racing confirms that Coy Gibbs (co-owner) went to be with the Lord in his sleep last night. The family appreciates all the thoughts and prayers and asks for privacy at this time.”

Gibbs was the vice-chairman and chief operating officer of Joe Gibbs Racing. He is the son of Joe Gibbs Racing founder and NASCAR and NFL Hall of Fame Joe Gibbs.

Coy Gibbs is the father of 20-year old Ty Gibbs, who clinched his first NASCAR Xfinity Series championship on Saturday at Phoenix Raceway.

Sunday morning it was announced that Ty Gibbs would not race in today’s Cup Series championship event. He was scheduled to run for 23XI racing in the event. Daniel Hemric will take over the ride.

The comments on other social media shows how much Joe Gibbs Racing is despised, and that some people do not hesitate to show it.

Reminds me of when Trump announced his search for a new Supreme Court Justice. None of the Justices had passed, Ruth Bader Ginsburg went into the hospital and Trump announced his search for a new Supreme Court Justice. That was pure vicious.
