Sources: Sale Of Lee USA Speedway Finalized

The 2023 racing season will open with a new owner operating Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H.

On Oct. 3 RaceDayCT reported exclusively that a sale of Lee USA Speedway from Norm Wrenn Jr. to Ben Bosowski was expected to take place in the near future.

According to multiple sources, on Monday that sale was finalized, with Bosowski closing on his purchase of Lee USA Speedway from Wrenn.

It marks the second ownership transfer of the track in less than five years. Wrenn purchased Lee USA Speedway from Red and Judy MacDonald in February 2018.

Bosowski owns Hudson (N.H.) Speedway. He also co-owns Claremont (N.H.) Motorsports Park with Wrenn. Wrenn, a longtime racer in the Northeast, also owns Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H.

Neither Bosowski or Wrenn were immediately available for comment Tuesday.

In October Bosowski told RaceDayCT that his intention was to continue operating Lee USA Speedway as a short track.

It was announced Monday that Lee will host a NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event on Saturday May 27, 2023. The Whelen Modified Tour returned to Lee in 2022 for the first series event at the facility since 1998. The .375-mile Lee USA Speedway opened in 1964. It is currently part of the NASCAR Advanced Auto Parts weekly racing series.

Bosowski purchased Hudson Speedway in early 2018. In October he said he’s unsure what the future holds for that facility. Asked in October if Hudson was for sale Bosowski said: “Everything is for sale for the right price, but no one likes my prices.”

It was announced on December 2 that Wrenn and Bosowski have received offers to sell Claremont and are in negotiations to do so. Claremont is expected to operate as a race track in 2023. Wrenn and Bosowski purchased the facility in 2019.

  1. Someone mentioned in another thread that the purchase of Lee speedway might mean the demise of Hudson Speedway. This article doesn’t give a warm and fuzzy feeling for the future of the Hudson bullring.
