RaceDayCT Poll: What Happens Tonight At New Smyrna Between Hirschman And Emerling

The Tour Type Modified division closes out its five nights of racing at the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speeday tonight with the running of the Richie Evans Memorial 100. Matt Hirschman has won all four races this week and Patrick Emerling has finished second each night. Tensions have been high the last two nights between the two. 1. We’ve been down this road before. The fan base explodes with opinions on everything about the rivalry and dustups then something reasonable happens. The drivers and teams see it and decide to dial it back. Especially tonight. Big race, a little more money….no one wants to go home with a wrecked car in the hauler in a bonehead attempt to settle a beef.
I don’t know about Emerling but Hirschman will go out of his way tonight to avoid any kind of confrontation. Mainly because he’s smart, has had time to process it all and it is after all not his car.

  2. So now the 100 is going to be run on Saturday night?

  3. Mike,
No, it was cancelled. Why are you asking this at 3:48 pm on Saturday when you commented on the story about the race being cancelled at 9:15 am today?
