Kicking off the season well at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl is becoming a trending matter for veteran SK Modified driver Eric Berndt.

And Sunday he was blasting back to victory lane in the annual Speedbowl opener.

Berndt, of Cromwell, topped the field in the 73-lap SK Modified Blast Off feature Sunday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.

  1. Can’t believe they got the race in today

Great job speedbowl getting the whole show in before the rain came. I wonder what they did to get it done. I wonder🤔🤔🤔 Well to be fair no one at Stafford knew about any rain coming until the pit party was in full swing.

  3. and the Tour goes on and on .... says

@2024, Stafford knew rain was coming they just don’t care about the teams and fans as much as the teams and fans think they do.

  4. and the Tour goes on and on …
Ok, I’ll bite. … If they knowingly chose to do what you think was the wrong thing at Stafford, because – as you say – they don’t care about teams or fans, what was the advantage that they got by doing the wrong thing? I mean, you’re basically saying they purposely did the wrong thing because they don’t care about fans or teams, so they must have done the wrong thing for their advantage in some way. What was that? Ultimately they ended up losing what will be the majority of their front gate revenue for May 10. Do you think that’s what they were hoping to do? Do you think they knowingly ignored the weather forecast because they were hoping they could lose $20 thousand or $30 thousand on May 10? That was their dastardly plan all along?

    What wonderfulness came upon

  5. and the Tour goes on and on .... says

Shawn I did not sat Stafford does not care about them I said. and its there to read, That the track does not care about them as much as the Teams and Fans think they do. Naturally a business has to care about its customers somewhat.
I’ve been going to the tracks we talk about here all my life. Down time at a track is beer, pizza, pretzel ,soda, T-shirt time and I totally understand. I was at Stafford Sat. and Sunday. Kept looking at the radar on my phone because Saturday night weather forecast told me to. All I am saying is I don’t think racing was the tracks priority on Sunday. Clearly you disagree and maybe I am 100% off base. I did give the track money so I figured a sentence or 3 was not off base.

  6. right now the weather is not looking too promising for Friday 30% chance of rain and cold

  7. And the tour goes on and on ,stafford leases out the food so they don’t make the boat load of money during down time like you think , I’m sure this was a losing proposition for them

  8. The exact forecast for sizzler Sunday was cool in the morning with a spot shower or two possible, clearing by noon, sunny hi of 68-70 in afternoon cooling to around 45 after dark. As I’ve said we got absolutely no rain here just north of the track, and it was an absolutely beautiful day. So, if Stafford uses the Weatherbug app.and watches the Weather Channel, that’s the forecast they had to work with

  9. Hillary 2024 says

Ok Rob P then why did everyone know rain was on the way during the pit party?
