Timmy Jordan brought something new for 2024 to the New London-Waterford Speedbowl on Saturday.
Jordan, of Plainfield, topped the field in the 35-lap SK Modified feature Saturday at the Speedbowl.
Jordan became the first repeat winner in five SK Modified events this season at the Speedbowl. Jordan got his first win of the season on May 11.
Todd Owen of Somers was second and Andrew Molleur of Shelton third.
Molleur, who has not won this season at the Speedbowl, leads an ultra-tight battle at the top of the SK Modified standings. The top five drivers in the division are separated by six points. Jon Puleo is second in the standings, two points behind Molleur. Jordan and Anthony Flannery are tied for third, three points behind Molleur. Three-time defending SK Modified division champion Owen is fifth in the standings, six points behind Molleur.
Puleo, Flannery and Eric Berndt are the other winners in the division this season.
Jason Palmer got his third win in four events in 2024 in the 30-lap Late Model feature. Ryan Lineham of Hope Valley, R.I. was second and Rich Staskowski of Hope Valley, R.I. was third.
It was the 50th career Late Model win at the Speedbowl for Palmer and his 103rd win at the track overall.
Jake Hines of North Haven led the way in the 25-lap SK Light Modified feature. Evan Bourgeois of East Hampton was second and Tyler Barry of Griswold third.
Norm Root III of Old Saybrook won the 25-lap Street Stock feature. Aaron Plemons of Uncasville was second and Ed Gertsch Jr. of East Haven third.
Charles Canfield of East Haven was victorious in the 25-lap Mini Stock feature. John Bavolacco of Stratford was second and Chris Garside of Groton third.
Jake Coutu of Moosup led the way in the 25-lap Truck feature. Tyler Chapman of Mystic was second and Charles Beal of Ledyard third.
If Gomarlo drove Hovey up to the crystal mall last week, then Hines drove Anderson up to the Rhode Island state beaches last night.
