Granite State Pro Stock Series Heads To Hudson Speedway For Summer Stretch Run

Gate City Classic Marks GSPSS’ Return After A Year Away

When it comes to entertainment, last Friday night’s Granite State Pro Stock Series showdown at Claremont Motorsports Park will be hard to top. But if there’s anywhere the series can promise another exciting show, Hudson Speedway is the place.

After a year away, the GSPSS returns to the high-banked oval in southern New Hampshire for the fourth race of 2024 and the second race of a midsummer stretch run that will set the tone for this fall’s big season finale. The Hudson event is set for this Sunday, July 14.

The GSPSS has raced a dozen times at Hudson dating back to the 2012 season, with ten different drivers hoisting the trophy. As the GSPSS’ driver roster has evolved in that time, so has Hudson, with owner Ben Bosowski pouring time and money into the track where his own driving career blossomed.

Another Hudson local is surely the driver looking most forward to the series’ return. Joey Polewarczyk cut his racing teeth at his hometown track, and the 2020 GSPSS champion is one of two two-time series winners at the quarter-mile. With victories in 2019 and 2021, and a runner-up finish in Hudson’s open Gate City Classic last summer, “Joey Pole” would love to pick up his third checkered flag at Hudson.

Cory Casagrande is anything but a Hudson local, but the Connecticut veteran counts the bullring among his favorite tracks, having set a qualifying time that stood for years. The longtime GSPSS supporter and his family will try to break into the winner’s circle Sunday.

Ryan Green, who borrowed Joey Doiron’s car to race at Claremont, plans to have his own car back in action Sunday night. Evan Beaulieu and Casey Call will carry their title pursuit to Hudson, too; Beaulieu is making his first start at Hudson, while Call will look to improve on second- and third-place outings in his last two GSPSS starts there.

Modified veteran Andy Shaw and Maine hero Gary Smith have filed their entries as well, and more are expected as the series powers through a busy streak of four races in four weeks.

There’s no better follow-up to last week’s down-to-the-wire finish than a visit to one of New England’s always-exciting quarter-mile bullrings, and Hudson Speedway certainly fits the bill.

Hudson Speedway welcomes back the Granite State Pro Stock Series for Sunday evening’s 100-lap showdown. Accompanying the GSPSS is the New England Dwarf Car Series, with twin 20-lap features on deck. Hudson’s Super Streets, Ridge Runners and Pure Stocks round out a program you will not want to miss. Post time is 5:15pm, with the main gate opening at 3:30pm for early arrivals. Adult admission is $20.00; Senior/Military tickets are just $15.00, and kids from 6 to 12 are only $5.00 – or take advantage of Hudson’s Family Four Pack for just $40.00! Those unable to attend can also enjoy streaming coverage of the evening’s races at
