
In 2020 the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series and Stafford Speedway came together for the first time under some not so great circumstances.
With Seekonk Speedway closed for the season due to COVID restrictions, Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series management was looking for a venue to host their season ending event.
In stepped Stafford Speedway and what came about was a historic event for both the series and the track. The Connecticut Classic on Oct. 24, 2020 attracted more than 50 cars attempting to qualify for the first series event at Stafford.
In 2022 the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series returned to the track, finding a home at Stafford by replacing the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour as the anchor event for the track’s historic NAPA Fall Final weekend.
Now the relationship between the track and series is taking another step forward.
In addition to returning as the anchor event for the NAPA Fall Final as they have done since 2022, the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series will make a second visit to Stafford in 2025.
The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series will visit Stafford Speedway on Wednesday July 16, 2025 with the running of the GAF Roofing Modified Masters.
“When the premier short track in the nation offers you a second date, you take it,” said Renee Dupuis, director of series development for the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series. “Over the last several years, our Stafford events have proven to be popular in terms of both car counts and crowds and we’re thrilled to double down with them in 2025.”
Said Stafford Speedway CEO Mark Arute: “The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series has done a great job with their series the last few seasons. We think they will bring our GAF Modified Masters event to the next level and help us develop that event into a marquee event on the Modified racing calendar.”
Stafford Speedway managment announced their full 2025 schedule on Wednesday.
The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series will also run the NAPA Auto Parts Fall Final 80 on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Chase Dowling won the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series event at Stafford in 2020. Ron Silk won the division’s NAPA Fall Final event in 2022. Matt Hirschman has been victorious in the event the last two years. The 2024 NAPA Fall Final attracted 38 cars, which was the highest car count for any Tour Type Modified event this season among the top Touring Modified divisions and various Open events.
The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series has one event remaining on its eight race 2024 schedule. The division concludes its season on Nov. 2 with the running of the USNEPower Haunted Hundred at Seekonk Speedway.
