No, No, No, No – No Need For Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series Name Change

On Tuesday management of the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series released their 2025 schedule and suddenly the topic about the series that comes up once about every 3-6 months reared its ugly head again.

Yup, every few months someone has to go on social media and suggest that the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series should drop the Tri-Track part of its name because the series goes to more than three tracks.

Why? Why would any good business throw away 11 years of building up the recognition equity of their brand name by just throwing that all away and creating confusion?

  1. Shawn, your last paragraph above says it all. It’s always been the TriTrack series. If it ain’t broken don’t try to fix it!

  2. Fast Eddie,
I agree. It’s a brand and identity now.
Its funny. You think, Tour Type modifieds, and a specific car comes to mind.
Now, when I see or hear “MRS”, Tri-Track Modifieds”, or “Nascar Whelan Tour Modifieds”, specific teams, drivers, for the most part come to mind. They now all have their own unique identity. Pick your favorite. Or not. All good. But no need to change names imo. There are certain things I like (and not like) about the uniqueness of all the series.
Of all the death’s doorstep’s prognostications of years past, I had a lot to choose from to go to this year for modifieds. It’s good stuff for this old guy. If I had to pick 2 (tough pick) Thompson night race in August, even if the race is mediocre, (summer night at a track in an unbelievable beautiful setting?) and the haunted hundred at Seekonk. There is just something about those 2 for me….
