  1. Oh my goodness after listening to Dodge and Joe Lewandoski I’m going to need something to come off a promotional high. Two promoters with big personalities and unlimited self confidence perpetually selling. If fundamental truths get twisted into pretzels with wildly hyperbolic self serving observations that’s all part of the job.

Pay to be in a points fund? Lets see, 9 tracks running 15 cars each on average all joining at $75 a pop is a bit over $10,000. Closer to a raffle then a fund isn’t it paying for whatever is paid out to winners with good participation. I should think a righteous fund would be GM funding the entire thing for nothing since they sell so many crate engines to racers at no cost to the teams.

And what’s it prove other then what Mr. Courchesne mentioned a fun thing to keep track of for those participating? Seems pretty clear it will be a lot harder accumulating points at Stafford with their deep fields then like at most of the other 8 tracks.

With all deference to Ben Dodge Stafford as good as it is certainly not the best short track in the country. Lewandoski clearly very good at promoting but his declaration that Ben Dodge could be the father of modified racing getting way over his skis trying to ingratiate himself to a local icon. The stated goal to “give back” what can you say. OK if you say so but not exactly in the vein of Mother Teresa.

    • Field size is going to make it harder for a Stafford car to get max points.

On the other hand, the amount of races they have access too will make it a lot easier to get points.

A track like riverhead only has 10 races scheduled that count towards this. Any other race a riverhead crate travels to is going to cost more than the point fund pays to win.

Stafford has 17 (by my count). And however many races at Thompson/Waterford they could do. Yes, only one per week counts, but it could give you 3 shots at it.

It’s really hard to balance something like this. Probably nearly impossible to make everyone happy.

nice to see an effort though.
