New London-Waterford Speedbowl regular Brody Monahan capped off his week at the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing victoriously on Thursday.

Monahan, of Waterford, drove away from the field to win the 100-lap Hoosier Pro Late Model feature.

“This means a lot,” Monahan said. “I was getting real down on myself there. We were struggling with this race car all week long. We just made some magical changes last night and into today and it absolutely just turned this race car around for us. I can’t thank this whole Bryson Lopez racing crew. Everything that they did this week and pushed through, talk about never giving up. That was a hell of a race car we had.”

Monahan had finishes of fifth, sixth, sixth, fifth and eighth respectively in the first five events of the World Series for the division. He ended the week third in the division’s standings.

  1. I thought racing was still a place I could go and not have to see boys dressing like girls. Get rid of the lady earrings kid, you look like a drag queen.

  2. Brody did a great job! he drove away from some of the best late model drivers in the country! he was on rails last night!

  3. Way to go Brody
