  1. Short answer there is zero hope of fixing the disconnect between short track racing and NASCAR CUP. Part the disappearance of the ladder system, part the fragmentation of entertainment and sports and partly self inflicted by tour modified promoters and teams themselves starting around 2004.

  2. Set a minimum age limit to drive a Cup car…say 23 or 24. Second requirement must have raced at least 4 years at Xfinity, Trucks or a headline division at a local short track. Then have a wild card option where you apply for entry and the current cup drivers vote if you are in or not. 75% in favor or more to qualify.
