  1. I thought both Mods and Cup race was good (nothing else going on last night) – The first caution of the mod race was unbearable but after that it went pretty quick – the cup race went quick also – I typically can’t watch a 1 1/2 mile track cup race anymore because it is pretty long and boring.

  2. I was very pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be terrible but I think the weight and sturdiness of the cars allowed a lot of leaning, bumping, and pushing that didn’t result in as many spins and wrecks as there might have been. Having the most talented drivers in the world on the track also helped.

  3. Although I did enjoy the races at Bowman Gray this weekend I think that NASCAR needs to continue to spread the wealth so to speak. Everyone has “grown up” at some small track across the country. NASCAR getting back to its roots is the best way breath some life back into the sport while helping small tracks with infrastructure and improvements. Obviously tracks will have to meet certain standards in order for it to make sense but they did it once they can do it again.

  4. Suitcase Jake says

Dan D , I couldn’t agree more with your comments…..Wow the improvements that were done were unreal … New Lighting…New Safer Walls..New fencing with new concrete barriers and new cables to boot … Nascar puts lots of money into the place and it looks fantastic…. BUT …. NASCAR owns the track lease now so they will now put on shows there & recoup x 5 all that money back in Spades…. Other family owned tracks will have to do it the way Stafford did, Themselves .. Bring in Thrill Shows and Special Events ETC ETC… Because Nascar is good at lining THEIR OWN POCKETS …. AS now they are in Court Battling MICHAEL JORDAN & TRACKHOUSE ,,, over Nascar Monopoly and Anti-Trust laws . Nascar won’t put money into a track they don’t OWN ….

  5. I was hoping it would be better than the colluseum and I’d say it definitely was. Surprised at the amount of 3-wide racing as well. Overall, I thought it was a much better representation of short track racing.
