Jason Raymond drove away from the field in the closing laps to win the 20-lap Street Stock feature Friday at Stafford.
It was the first career victory in the division for the Somers driver. Raymond was making his 53rd career start in the division Friday.
“This is unbelievable,” Raymond said. “I’ve been coming here since I was kid watching my uncles Al and Cliff Saunders race here. To finally have one of my own is so rewarding. It’s been a hard fought journey. Three years and so many what-if’s. Finally we can say we did it.”
Brandon Warren of Chicopee, Mass. was second and Travis Downey of Barkhamstead was third.
Jeremy Lavoie of Windsor Locks got his first victory of the season in the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature.
It was Lavoie’s 26th career victory in the division and first since Aug. 23, 2024. Lavoie has at least one win in the division every year since 2017.
“Battle of attrition of out there tonight,” Lavoie said. “I was starting to doubt myself. With two races left I didn’t have a win on the year. I was like ‘Man I might go winless.’ At least one win since 2017. I’m glad I’ve been able to win every since 2017 at least once a year. It feels so great to be down here.”
Gary Patnode of Coventry was second and R.J. Surdell of Willington third.
