A voice familiar to those tuning in regularly to NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour broadcasts in recent years will be stepping away from the broadcast booth for the series in 2026.

Longtime local announcer Joe Coss has been a fixture on Whelen Modified Tour broadcasts in recent years.

RaceDayCT has learned exclusively from Coss that he will be moving on from the Whelen Modified Tour broadcast booth to pursue other endeavors.

“Modified racing represents the heart of short track racing in the Northeast and it has been an honor and privilege to cover the Whelen Modified Tour in various capacities for nearly 20 years alongside friend and mentor Ben Dodge,” Coss told RaceDayCT. “I’m proud of the foundation we built as a team to enhance the broadcast on FloRacing and the at track experience for the race fans. I’ll miss working with everyone in the Whelen Modified garage and look forward to announcing my plans for the 2026 season in the future.”
