Former Daytona 500 champion Ryan Newman and veteran Tour Type Modified team owner Doug Dunleavy will team up to take a shot at winning the Greatest Race in the History of Spring.
Newman has filed entry for the NAPA Spring Sizzler on April 26 at Stafford Speedway in a Dunleavy owned ride.
“We’re going to give it a try,” Dunleavy said. “He thinks it will work between me and him. He wants to go play. It might work.
“We’ve been becoming better friends every year. We’ve been talking on an almost weekly basis for a little while, about everything, even just life in general. Now we decided to do this.”

Should be a great combo, Ryan does well when he is in good equipment… He Wins on the Smart Tour in good equipment down South , So he should be able to be Competitive in Doug’s Modified which Woody was successful with at Stafford on the open shows in the past … Good LUCK !!!! See what happens… Had the privilege to speak with Ryan a few times last Spring in NC at a couple different tracks & where he Won at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont NC.. He’s a great guy to speak with and a Humble Man who has done a Ton of Winning… !!! these Nascar Drivers are so much more down to earth than some of the other Pro Sports Players….
