NASCAR Cup Series driver and former Whelen Modified Tour champion Ryan Preece was fined $50,000 and docked 25 driver points for his actions during the Cup Series Wurth 400 on Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway.

After an issue on track with Ty Gibbs, Preece ranted on his team’s radio about Gibbs.

“What a fucking idiot that kid is,” Preece said over the radio. “He’s so lucky his car is so fucking fast. … Alright, when I get to that 54, I’m done with him. Fucking idiot. It’s just, that car is so fast, it fucking pisses me off. Stupid. I, I can’t I’m going to vent for 15 seconds. I can’t stand when idiots like him have fast race cars that they can do stupid shit and get away with it. End of rant.

Not long after Preece made contact with Gibbs and Gibbs wrecked.

NASCAR deemed that Preece intentionally wrecked Gibbs. With the point penalty, Preece fell from 12th in the Cup Series standings to 13th.

  1. WHAT A JOKE, NASCAR PLAYING FAVORITES AGAIN. I’M STILL NOT SURE HE HIT HIM. NEXT TIME DO NOT VENT, LET YOUR BUMPER DO THE TALKING

  2. Sharpie Fan says

I call bull💩! What’s gonna happen when the little snot doesn’t have his grandpa to run to? Couldn’t help but notice this also helps another Gibbs driver, Christopher Bell, move up a spot in points too.

  3. Can somebody roll that video, please?

  4. Geez, Kryle Bush used to announce when he was going to wreck someone, and then did the wrecking. I don’t recall Kryle getting penalized.
