
On June 6 Nickolas Hovey added his name to the historic SK Modified winner’s list at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.
It took him just a week to ensure he wouldn’t be a one-hit wonder on that list.
Hovey, of Chaplin, got his second consecutive victory in the 35-lap SK Modified feature Saturday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.
Timmy Jordan of Plainfield was second and Adam Gada of Bozrah was third.
Anthony Flannery, who was fourth Saturday, leads the tight SK Modified standings at the Speedbowl. Hovey sits second, nine points off the lead. Jordan and Todd Owen (fifth on Saturday) are tied for third, 11 points behind Flannery.
Brody Monahan of Waterford won the 30-lap Late Model feature. Shawn Gaedeke of Groton was second and Jason Palmer of Berlin third.
Charles Canfield of East Haven led the way in the 25-lap Mini Stock feature. Andrew Krzeminski of East Hampton was second Sean Olden of Colchester was third.
Jake Coutu of Moosup won the 25-lap Truck feature. Ryan Lineham of Hope Valley, R.I. was second and Mason Silva of Gales Ferry was third.
