Double Points, NESTN Double Purse on the Line

How quickly time flies by on the highbanks of Barre’s Thunder Road International Speedbowl with the daring pilots of the quarter mile oval ready to drive headlong into the most important date of the summer calendar. This Thursday the Times Argus presents the all-important Midseason Championships with double points and the NESTN.tv Double Purse on the line plus the annual Autograph Session on Thursday’s schedule!

Jason Corliss has continued to control the Maplefields/Irving Late Model standings with another strong podium run last Thursday as Brandon Gray and the tied-for-fifth Marcel Gravel and Justin Prescott remain the only non-champions among the top runners. Joining Corliss, Christopher Pelkey and Bobby Therrien are both in the hunt for their second King of the Road track championship and hope to make up ground with the Times Argus double points on Midseason Championship night.

Wolcott’s Brendan Moodie expanded his big lead atop the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers with his dominant performance in last Thursday’s Myers Container 75 lapper. More impressive last week was Logan Powers’ return to true form with a strong third-place finish, making him a true threat to go for the Midseason Championship checkers. Derrick Calkins, Matt Ballard, Luke Peters and Eric Chase also showed plenty of speed and consistency in last week’s 75 lapper but can they pull it all together with 55 laps on the board this week?

Brookfield’s Tyler Wheatley has hammered his stake deeper into the top of the rk Miles Street Stock mountain with a ten-point lead over Fairfax’s Hayden Bushey. Bushey drove up through to a strong second place finish in last Thursday’s 30 lap main event and with the extra five laps on Times Argus Midseason Championships, look for Bushey to seal the deal on win number one. Fellow youngster Jackson Hunt is also looking for his first win of the season while Nate Brien is still digging deep to bounce back from his turn two pirouette several weeks ago and return to the winner’s circle.

The Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors also return with a 25 lap Midseason Championship event on Thursday. Nick Copping, Mason Frazier and Cayden Green are among those looking to join Taylor Sayers, Eddie Thompson and Mike Slingerland as a 2026 Warrior winner on the Barre highbanks.

The time has come for the annual Times Argus Midseason Championships at Thunder Road this Thursday, July 23. The Maplefields/Irving Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors go extra distance with Double Points and the NESTN.tv Double Purse on the line along with the annual Autograph Session following heat race qualifying on Thursday. Racing will begin at 7:00pm.

Grandstands open Thursday at 5:00pm with Adult General Admission set at $15, Kids 6-12 are $5 and Children five and under are free! The Family Four Pack (two adults, two kids) will also be available for $30.
