New England Auto Racers Hall Of Fame Video Tribute To Bill Slater

They are names considered the who’s who of the golden age of Modified racing in the Northeast.

Bugsy Stevens, Gene Bergin, Richie Evans, Ed Flemke Jr. and others.

The names of the inducted in the first class of New England Auto Racers Hall of Fame in 1998.

Also part of that list was “Wild” Bill Slater, on of the members of that illustrious inaugural class of the New England Auto Racers Hall of Fame.

Slater, of Manchester, passed away Sunday at 83 years old.

At the Waterford Speedbowl’s Nostalgia Weekend in 2003, Slater was interviewed by longtime racing journalist Pete Zanardi. Check out that video below.
