WINCHESTER, N.H. – We had a feeling the first out of state trip for RaceDayCT would involve rolling to the Granite State, though we didn’t expect it to happen this week.
The Granite State trip came a few days earlier than expected and didn’t land us in Loudon.
Instead Winchester, N.H. was the destination for the maiden voyage to Monadnock Speedway for tonight’s Valenti Modified Racing Series Firecracker 100 on the high banked quarter-mile oval.
First impressions? What a cool little track in the middle of nowhere.
And any track with a beer garden is a cool place, just something about that.
In a small way it feels like we’ve fallen back in time to Riverside Park Speedway without the Thunderbolt roller coaster looming over turn three.
