STAFFORD – Coming into Friday night’s racing event at Stafford Motor Speedway Dylan Kopec was looking down the stat sheet at 16th place and 15th place finishes in the last two events at the track.
Friday he found the elixir to make everything better.
Kopec passed Payton Henry for the lead on lap 14 and was never challenged the rest of the way in winning the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature.
It was the sixth victory in 13 events this season for Kopec, of Palmer, Mass.
“We’ve missed it the past few weeks with my setup,” Kopec said. “We put four tires on and thing was driving like a dream.”
Joey Ferrigno of East Hartford was second and Henry, of Willington, third.
Adam Gray of Belchtertown, Mass. held off a charging Jim Peterson to win the 30-lap Late Model feature. It was the first victory of the season for Gray.
Peterson, of Monson, Mass., held on for second and Ed Ricard of Stafford was third.
Kris Fluckiger of Enfield won the first of two 12-lap DARE Stock features. Monte Gibbs of Killingworth was second and Stephanie Berardi third.
The second Limited Late Model feature and DARE Stock feature were called off because of lightning. Makesups will be announced at a later date.
