Tommy Barrett Jr. Looking To Make NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Debut At Stafford

Tommy Barrett Jr. has shown in multiple ways that he knows well how to get a Modified type car around the half-mile oval at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Sunday he’s hoping it will be the site where he gets his first chance competing at the highest level of Modified competition.

The 17-year old Barrett, of Millis, Mass., has been added to the entry list for Sunday’s CarQuest Fall Final 150 at Stafford.

Barrett started in the track’s SK Light Modified division in 2010 in rattled off 14 victories over two seasons, good for second all-time in the division at the track.On Aug. 31 Barrett, a rookie on the Valenti Modified Racing Series, won his first event in the division in the Shark Cycle 80 at Stafford Speedway.

Barrett is listed to drive for team owner Gary Teto in this weekend’s Whelen Modified Tour event at Stafford. Qualifying for the CarQuest Fall Final 150 is Saturday.
