Two For One: Dylan Kopec Keeps Up Domination In SK Light Modifieds At Stafford

STAFFORD – Dylan Kopec had the best seat in the house Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway for some of the best racing this season in the SK Light Modified division.

But when push came to shove Kopec went from the entertained to the entertainer.

Kopec went from third to first on lap 19 and went on to win the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature.

It was the eighth victory in 17 events this year for Kopec, of Palmer, Mass.

Zach Aszklar of Wallingford was second and Bob Charland of Stafford third.

Kopec had a perfect seat to watch Charland and Aszklar put together eight consecutive laps of dramatic battling for the lead and then decided to make his move.

Kopec went by Aszklar before turn one on lap 19 then got by Charland for the lead by the time they came out of turn two.

“I didn’t think I was going to get by them,” Kopec said. “I saw an opening and took some chances and ended up getting to the front.”
