RaceDayCT Daily Poll: Favorite Full Bodied Regional Racing Division In New England?

RaceDayCT Daily Poll Orange 550

The Pro All Stars Series and North East Street Stock Tour treated fans at the Icebreaker this weekend at Thompson Speedway to quality events.

In less than two weeks the Mr. Rooter New England Truck Series will open its season at Stafford Motor Speedway’s NAPA Spring Sizzler. And in a few weeks the American Canadian Tour will begin its southern swing with a visit to the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.

While Modifieds reign on the short tracks of Southern New England, Connecticut race fans will get plenty of chances to get their eyes on some action from full-bodied regional touring divisions in 2016.

So tell us, what is your favorite full-bodied regional touring division that competes in New England?

I dont like any of them. But, I enjoy the heck out of the Dare stockers at Stafford.

  2. Then you enjoy tortoise racing as well.

LOL, you might be right! It has been awhile since I last visited CT and watched some Races. But, I remember too many of the “newer” full bodies stockers races getting strung out and usually dominated by one car. More often than the Mods. I enjoyed the SK’s where there was more competition. I know no one in the Dares and have no axe to grind. One of the best races that I have ever seen was the 2 leaders of a Dare race fighting side by side for 14 laps w/o spinning each other out. Took them 6 laps to come through the field. Sure there was some banging. I say this having watched many races and racers since about 1962 when Don Mctavish came to Plainville stadium and beat some serious competition. I guess that I factor what the cars are and what level the guys are. If that particular division puts on a show, I am all for it. I do miss the street stock divisions of the 1980’s from the 6 cylinders in Chevy II’s to the bug Monte Carlos and Chevelles! i wont even get started on Plainville’s “Novice” division with car counts in the 40’s and the races they put on in the 60’s. Sorry for anyone that waded through the tome – I miss NE Racing very much.
