EPPING, N.H. – The Tri-Track Open Modified Series made its first of two visits to Star Speedway Saturday with the running of the Prelude to the SBM.

Jon McKennedy ended up coming from the consolation event and the 24th starting spot to score victory in the event after a scorching day at the Epping, N.H. bullring.

Check out below for some views from the pits Saturday at Star.

  1. Chris is one of those guys you hope does well which he did quite nicely Saturday at Star. Another hope for him is that he’ll win or at least be in the mix at the end for the CBYD combined Stafford/TTOMS bonus. It could very well happen.
There’s no way to sugar coat it. So far the bonus has been and complete non factor in generating interest from teams or fans. Out of the top 17 drivers only four have competed in all three events with Nocella at number three in the standings behind Silk and Preece. The other three race drivers Pasteryak, Williams and Pitkat. What will happen as the events click off is that the leaders that tend to be race winners will get replaced by drivers racing both series probably lead by Nocella.
While the bonus doesn’t appear to be drawing crossover interest from drivers it does illustrate one thing that is outstanding. Both series can draw terrific fields with many teams just concentrating in one series.

  2. As always, a great photo presentation.
