STAFFORD – Alexander Pearl put a nearly two-year long winless streak in the rear view mirror Friday at Stafford Speedway.

Pearl, of Salem, topped the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature Friday,

It was Pearl’s first victory since Aug. 19, 2022 and his 12th overall in the division.

“It’s been a long two years,” Pearl said. “Going winless last year really sucked. To get one at this point in this season, I thought we’d have one before that. All in all the car has been really good every week. I just can’t thank my entire crew enough. We just survived tonight.”

Meghan Fuller of Auburn, Mass. was second and Ron Midford of Ellington third.

The Limited Late Model division at Stafford Speedway came into Friday night’s special event for the division holding an impressive distinction for the 2024 season.

Through the first nine races of the year there had been nine different winners.

Rich Hamman stole that distinction away from the division Friday.

Hammann, of Tolland, went by Jeremy Lavoie for the lead on lap 28 and held on to win the Riley Generators Limited Late Model 30 Friday at Stafford.

Hammann, who got his first win of the season on May 24, became the first multi-time winner in the division this season.

“I’m speechless,” Hammann said.

Lavoie, of Windsor Locks, was second and R.J. Surdell of Willington third.

Travis Hydar cruised to his fourth consecutive victory in the 20-lap Street Stock feature.

“We had a couple of rough races in the beginning of the season, but when this car is on it’s on and we’re trying to keep on top of it and make sure it’s on every week. I think we’ve done a good job of that so far.”

It was the seventh victory in 10 starts this year for Hydar, the reigning division champion. Hydar, who became the division’s all-time winningest driver earlier this season, now has 26 career Street Stock victories.
