Over the first seven SK Modified features of the 2024 season at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl there had been only one multi-time winner in the division.

That fact didn’t change Saturday after the eighth event of the season, but there wasn’t a new winner.

Timmy Jordan, the only multi-time winner in the division this year, made it three victories for 2024 in winning the 35-lap SK Modified feature Saturday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.

Jon Puleo of Branford was second and three-time defending division champion Todd Owen of Somers was third.  Puleo was penalized in post race tech and dropped to a 17th place finish. It moved Owen to second and Anthony Flannery of East Hampton to third.

Andrew Molleur of Shelton ended up fourth and Eric Berndt of Cromwell fifth.

Molleur came into the night holding a two-point lead over second place Flannery in the standings with Jordan and Owen tied for third, five points off the lead. Puleo came into the night fifth in the standings, six points behind Molleur.

Saturday’s result shook up the top-five, moving Jordan into a tie for the points lead with Molleur. Flannery slotted into third in the standings, one point off the lead. Owen sits fourth, three points behind Jordan. Berndt is 15 points off the lead in fifth. Puleo fell to sixth in the standings.

Sami Anderson of Wolcott led every lap on the way to victory in the first 25-lap SK Light Modified feature. Nickolas Hovey of Chaplin was second and Evan Bourgeois of East Haddam third.

Bourgeois topped the second 25-lap SK Light Modified feature. Zack Sangermano of Plainfield was second and Bill Anderson of Wolcott third.

Ed Gertsch Jr. of East Haven topped the first 25-lap Street Stock feature. Joe Arena of Bristol was second and Al Stone III of Durham third.

Aaron Plemons of Uncasville scored victory in the second 25-lap Street Stock feature. Gertsch was second and Jon Porter of East Lyme third.

Charles Beal of Ledyard topped the 25-lap Truck feature. Tyler Chapman of Mystic was second Brad Strickland of Uncasville third.

Jase Mongeon of Charlton topped the first 25-lap Legends feature. PJ Evans of Uncasville was second and Riley Paul of Ledyard third.

Evans won the second 25-lap Legends race. Mongeon was second and Paul third.

That’s quite the rivalry happening between Tyler Chapman and Charles Beal. Lots of smack talk between the two in the post race interview. Best part of the whole thing is that both of them are such great drivers, nobody’s getting wrecked. Cool to see Sammi win the first race and her dad get third in the second race. How about that old veteran Joe Arena picking up a second place finish. And those old style monte carlo bodied cars did very well last night. Also great to hear Matt Buckler on the mike after a long time away. But sad to see him in the condition he’s in. Nice news feature on WFSB 3 about the rising young star, Milania Shilosky and her racing the trucks and legends at the bowl. Her and Sammi have a whole lot of fans and are always walking around signing autographs. You never seen any of the dudes doing that on their own time. Just another great night of racing after all the rain outs and we were out of there by 9:15. A well run show.

The streetstocks were the best racing all night. The SK’s were fast, but lacking patience, and a couple good cars didn’t finish. the lites I don’t normally watch at any track, as there are too many young kid drivers, but I watched them last night, while my friend went and bought the food, and the lites actually put on some great racing. The truck race was great too, but the best racing all day was the streeters
