On Thursday longtime local racer and former New London-Waterford Speedbowl general manager Shawn Monahan announced that he has purchased the Mooresville, N.C. Walker Motorsports racing team, which is a three-car Pro Late Model stable that competes at some of the biggest events through the Southeast.
Monahan’s 16-year old son Brody was also named as the first driver for the still unnamed racing organization.
