THOMPSON – With 10 laps left in the Valenti Modified Racing Series event on June 29th at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H., Tim Jordan looked on his way to his first career top-three finish in the division.

Instead the night ended with a mangled race car when he ended up getting caught up in a wreck in the closing laps of the event.
It was another in a string of hard luck finishes for the Plainfield driver. Jordan made the decision to step back from the series and regroup.
Jordan skipped the next two series events, but returned triumphantly Sunday at Thompson International Speedway.
Jordan scored a career best second place finish in the 75-lap Valenti Modified Racing Series event at Thompson.
Jordan started 19th in the 33-car field at Thompson.
“We just kept having back luck, bad runs, none of our doing,” Jordan said of the decision to skip two events. “I think today proves that we can come from the back against anybody. I think a lot of people won’t admit it, but they think we don’t belong here. I know I belong here. My ass belongs in a seat here.”
Jordan, in his second year in the division, raced in the top eight for most of the event. His only hope for a victory came down to two single-file restarts against race-winner Ted Christoper over the final six laps.
“I wasn’t going to jack him up from behind,” Jordan said. “He’s probably has more races in his lifetime right now than I’ll ever run if I run until I’m 100 years old, so I can’t be too mad finishing second to Ted. I still hate it. I hate second.”
