Valenti Modified Racing Series Washed Out Again At Thompson Speedway

It seems weather at Thompson International Speedway and the Valenti Modified Racing Series go hand-in-hand this year.

For the second consecutive week Valenti Modified Racing Series officials have been forced to postpone an event at Thompson because of rain.

Racing  at Thompson, including tonight’s 75-lap feature for the Valenti Modified Racing Series, has been called off due to a forecast calling for rain this evening.

The Valenti Modified Series event was originally scheduled for last Thursday when it was rained out. It will now be run next Thursday, Aug. 8.

It means two races in three days in Connecticut for the Valenti Modified Racing Series. The division is part of the Wings and Wheels Show scheduled for Aug. 10 at the Waterford Speedbowl.

Thursday marked the third time this year weather has effected the Valenti Modified Racing Series at Thompson. The division was scheduled to run a feature at the track on May 19, but that was cancelled because of rain. The division is also scheduled to run its season ending event at Thompson on Oct. 19 as part of the track’s World Series weekend.

The Valenti Modified Racing Series returns to action Saturday at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Me.
