New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer Of The Week Award: Diego Monahan

Each week during the 2013 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly division competitors at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson International Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Each week’s winner will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel. Drivers must have a Sunoco Race Fuel decal on their car to be eligible for the weekly award.

It was a celebration years in the waiting Saturday after the SK Modified feature at the Waterford Speedbowl.

Diego Monahan of Quaker Hill proved winner and survivor.

In a wreck-marred feature, Monahan survived 13 restarts to win his fifth career Waterford Speedbowl SK Modified feature race. It was the first victory for Monahan at Waterford since April 21, 2007.

For his efforts, Monahan is the recipient of this week’s New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer of the Week Award.
