Sixteen year old Tyler Reddick came out on top of a final lap battle with championship contender Brett Moffitt to win in his series debut.

Moffitt was in position to win the series title, leading the race on the final lap, before the battle with Reddick. Moffitt ended up crashing and finishing 21st. It meant Larson’s sixth place finish was good enough to give him the title.

“I’ve been lucky a lot this year … and just stayed consistent and got the championship,” Larson said in a release from NASCAR. “It feels great. I have to thank the whole Rev Racing team, Toyota and everyone that helps out on this team, and the NASCAR diversity program for giving me this opportunity to run.”

Corey LaJoie ended up second in the race and second in the points standings, 14 behind Larson. Darrell Wallace Jr. was third in the race. Moffitt ended up third in the standings, 24 points behind Larson.
