Sources close to the track and NASCAR have confirmed that the Speedbowl will once again be on the Whelen Modified Tour schedule in 2013.

The series returned to the Speedbowl in 2012 with eventual series champion Doug Coby winning at the .375-mile oval. It marked the first Whelen Modified Tour event at the track since 2006.

The series will return in 2013 with a June 22 event expected to be announced.

It means at least eight Whelen Modified Tour events at Connecticut short tracks in 2013. Stafford Motor Speedway has already announced they will host the series four times in 2013. Thompson International Speedway is expected to host the series for at least three events.

NASCAR is expected to announce the 2013 schedule in coming days. As of right now at least 14 events are expected on the schedule. Despite rumors to the contrary, the Whelen Modified Tour is not expected Richmond International Speedway in 2013.
