Woody Pitkat Captures New Smyrna World Series Modified Title; Chuck Hossfeld Wins In Finale

Chuck Hossfeld won the battle on Saturday evening at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway, but it was Woody Pitkat who won the war.

Hossfeld of Ransomville, N.Y. won the final Modified race of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing Saturday at New Smyrna Speedway.

Woody Pitkat of Stafford finished second in the 35-lap event to clinch his first New Smryna World Series Modified championship.

Pitkat won three of the six Modified events contested at the World Series. He also had finishes of third and fourth in the other two events.

According to The Chrome Horn, Hossfeld went by Patrick Emerling on lap four of Saturday’s event and never trailed again.

It was the second World Series victory for Hossfeld in 2013. Andy Seuss of Hampstead, N.H. was third Saturday night.

    Shawn~ Why no feedback on the week Larry Gelinas had? Ran full time in in Pro-Late Models and Super Models, and I believe finished top 5 in Pro-late Models. Nice run for the Thompson regular.
