Thirty Two Signs Honey Badger Of The Week Award: Mike Stefanik

In February at Daytona International Speedway, Mike Stefanik basically illustrated in perfect fashion what Honey Badger style is all about.

Paint the picture of the Honey Badger? Heck, Stefanik was the Picasso of painting that picture when he offered Speed TV’s Ray Dunlap the angriest Whelen Modified Tour post-race interview ever on live national television.

We all remember, “Yeah right.” and “It’s just bull [expletive].” from Stefanik on that glorious evening in Daytona.

This past weekend at Thompson International Speedway Stefanik showed that the aging Honey Badger isn’t slowing for any kids.

Thanks to Randall and his glorious YouTube classic, we all know this, “Honey Badger don’t care.”

According to Randall: “The honey badger has been referred to by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most fearless animal in all of the animal kingdom.”

We know from Randall: “Honey Badger don’t care, it just takes what he wants. He has no regard for any other animal whatsoever.”

All weekend at Thompson Stefanik was just taking. He took the pole for the season opening Whelen Modified Tour Icebreaker 150 in qualifying on Saturday and on Sunday he grappled the victory away from Rowan Pennink in the closing laps.

As Randall says: “The Honey Badger is really pretty badass. It has no regard for any other animal whatsoever.” At 54 years old, Stefanik might be a graying Honey Badger, but he’s still a feisty and fighting Honey Badger nonetheless.

“I’m older than some of the kids’ dads I’m racing against,” Stefanik said. “But, if I can just do my job and feel like I’m doing my job then things will be good.”
