Valenti Modified Racing Series To Have $10K Series Championship Purse

Valenti Modified Racing Series officials are expected to announce publicly this week that drivers will be competing for a $10,000 season ending series champion’s payout.

Valenti Modified Racing Series officials told team owners and drivers prior the season opening event at the Waterford Speedbowl on April 8 that they would be racing for the inflated champions’s payout for the 2013 season.

It’s unclear how much was paid to series championship teams in previous years. Series founded and owner Jack Bateman was unavailable for comment on Wednesday.

“It’s a number that is symbolic towards both the series and the racers,” Valenti Modified Racing Series driver Tim Jordan said. “With the opportunity to win such a great amount, it shows how far the series has developed since day one and I am thrilled to be a part of the anniversary season.”

The Valenti Modified Racing Series is celebrating its 10th season this year. The division celebrates the anniversary of its first race ever Saturday with the running of the Bond Auto Parts Spring Dash 100 at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester. The series held its first race at the track in 2004.

  1. Shawn: I thought it was $10,000 to win the Chanpionship. Up from $5,000 in 2012.
Not an additional $10,000 to the points payout. I hope I’m wrong.

  2. I was originally told $10k additional, but as of now it looks like 10k total.

  3. Thanks for the info.
