Heated Roll: Adam Gray Keeps Up Impressive Run With Late Model Victory At Stafford

STAFFORD – Temperatures hovered in the unhealthy range all day and into the evening Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

No mind for Adam Gray though, he’s one driver that’s clearly shown this year that he knows perfectly how to handle the heat.

A hot streak is pretty much all Gray has known this year at Stafford and that fiery roll continued in perfect fashion Friday for the Belchertown, Mass. driver.

Gray rolled in dominant fashion to his third victory of the 2013 season in the 30-lap Late Model feature Friday at Stafford Speedway.

Mark St. Hilaire of Berlin was second and Kevin Gambacorta of Ellington third.

It was the ninth consecutive podium finish at Stafford for Gray, who extended his points lead in the division from four to 14 points over Tom Fearn, who was sixth in the feature.

Gray’s only finish outside the top three this season is an 18th place finish in the season opening event.

“When I ran Monadnock [Speedway in Winchester, N.H.]  I had 14 top-fours in a 15-race season, but down here I feel like that’s unheard of and we just keep riding the roller coaster as long as it will take us,” Gray said.

Gray went to second place on lap seven and then passed Gambacorta for the lead on lap nine and never trailed again.

“I can’t thank my crew enough,” Gray said. “Without these guys we wouldn’t be here. All the hard work that them guys do for me.”
