After finishing second in the Whelen Modified Tour Spring Sizzler on April 28, Justin Bonsignore seemed genuinely giddy about the next race coming up on the schedule.

After the Sizzler the series was originally supposed to make its next stop at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H. on May 11 and Bonsignore made it clear on April 28 that he was prepared to go to Monadnock as a favorite to win.

His hopes for a big celebration got put on hold for a couple months because of a rainout in May, but Saturday Bonsignore finally got to revel in his return to the high-banked quarter-mile oval.

Bonsignore, of Holtsville, N.Y., won the Whelen Modified Tour Town Fair Tire Whitcomb 200 Saturday at Monadnock Speedway.

Reigning series champion Doug Coby, coming off a victory at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 13, was second. Rowan Pennink of Huntingdon Valley, Pa. was third.

It was the third career victory and first at Monadnock for Bonsignore.

Series points leader Ryan Preece of Berlin was fifth, actually his worst finish in seven events this season.
