New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer Of The Week Award: Adam Gray

Each week during the 2013 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly division competitors at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson International Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Each week’s winner will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel. Drivers must have a Sunoco Race Fuel decal on their car to be eligible for the weekly award.

It’s a Performer of the Week Award many events in the making.

Ten events in the making to be exact.

On May 10 Adam Gray parked himself on the podium with a victory in the Late Model feature at Stafford Motor Speedway and he hasn’t left yet.

Friday Gray, of Belchertown, Mass., finished second to Woody Pitkat in the 30-lap Late Model feature at Stafford. It was Gray’s 10th consecutive podium finish this year at Stafford, a nearly unheard of feat for any division at the track.

Gray’s only finish outside the top-three in 11 events this year is an 18th place in the first race of the year.

Over the last 10 events at Stafford Gray has three victories, three second place finishes and four third place runs. He currently leads the Late Model standings, with a 38-point advantage of second place Tom Fearn.

For his efforts, Gray is the recipient of this week’s New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer of the Week Award.
