Running Hot: Ryan Preece Makes It Two In A Row In SK Modified Action At Stafford

Ryan Preece went by Ted Christopher for the lead on lap 26 and rolled to victory in the 40-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

It was the second consecutive victory of for Preece, of Berlin, and his eighth in 14 SK Modified events this year at Stafford.

Christopher, of Plainville, was second and Eric Berndt of Cromwell third.

Tom Fearn of East Longmeadow, Mass. won the 30-lap Late Model feature.

Adam Gray of Belchertown, Mass. was second. It was Gray’s 13th consecutive podium finish. Gray’s only finish outside the top three this season was an 18th in the season opening event.

Chase Dowling of Roxbury won the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature. Andrew Hayes of Charlton, Mass. won the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature. Kyle Casagrande of Stafford won the 15-lap DARE Stock feature.

Also on Friday, SK Modified drivers Eric Berndt, Todd Owen and Ted Christopher, Limited Late Model driver Justin Bren and DARE Stock driver Cliff Saunders were each awarded $811 bonuses as part of the Call Before You Dig 811 Challenge.
