Oktoberfest at Lee USA Speedway this weekend will mean a few more dollars in the pocket than normal for some Valenti Modified Racing Series teams thanks to Bethany based Laticrete International.
Laticrete was originally slated to sponsor a June Valenti Modified Racing Series event at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H. That race was rained out and unable to be rescheduled.
Sunday’s Valenti Modified Racing Series event at Lee will now be the Laticrete 100, part of the 26th Oktoberfest program at Lee. It marks the ninth consecutive season that the Valenti Modified Racing Series is part of the season ending event at Lee.
Laticrete will offer a $500 bonus to Sunday’s race winner. An extra $300 will be paid to second place, $250 to third, $200 to fourth and $150 to fifth thanks Laticrete. They will also pay the top finishing rookie in the event an extra $200.
Rowan Pennink of Huntingdon Valley, Pa. holds a seemingly insurmountable 90 point lead over two-time series champion Chris Pasteryak of Lisbon with two events remaining. Tommy Barrett Jr. of Millis, Mass. is third in the standings, 91 points behind Pennink.
If Pennink can leave Lee with a 56-point lead in the standings or more it will clinch his first series title before the final race of the season on Oct. 19 at Thompson Speedway. Qualifying heats at Lee will take place Saturday. Racing begins at noon on Sunday at Lee.
