Stafford Speedway Celebrates Champions And More At 2013 Banquet Friday

Over 500 people packed into Maneely’s in South Windsor Friday to celebrate the 2013 racing season at Stafford Motor Speedway during the track’s annual postseason banquet.

The main guests of honor for the evening were track’s five champions in 2013, SK Modified driver Woody Pitkat, Late Model driver Adam Gray, SK Light Modified driver Tony Membrino Jr., Limited Late Model driver Josh Wood and DARE Stock driver Dave Secore Jr.

A number of special awards were also presented during the evening.

The UNOH Ultimate Mechanic award went to Earl Pelletier, who was the crew chief for Pitkat in the SK Modified division with team owner Steve Greer.

Most popular driver awards went to Pitkat in both the SK Modified and Late Model divisions, Geoff Boisjolie in the SK Light Modifieds, David Arute in the Limited Late Models and Johnny Walker and Doug Phelps in the DARE Stock division. The most popular driver awards are based on fan voting at the track.

Rookie of the Year awards were presented to Joey Cipriano (SK Modified), Cory Casagrande (Late Model), Chase Dowling (SK Light Modified), Austin Besette (Limited Late Model) and David Comeau (DARE Stock).

    The stories on here are so vague and short….why not go into detail of the drivers speeches? Good headlines gets me interested but then a big let down….speed51 I guess it is.
