  1. Mike Christopher Sr. is my vote

  2. it would be great to see Jr pass Sr for the win

  3. Woody all the way

  4. The heart says guys like Gunning, Mike Sr,, Pearl or Pennink but they’re too old to race for the win and in Penninks case needs to stay clear of driving to protect that back. The head says Pitkat or Preece in a good car and they could compete quite well.

  5. Da gummit Doug, you missed that one. Mike Sr in the Tic Mike race. Thought he was to old!

  6. No I didn’t. Try reading what I said again and this time don’t do it with that chip on your shoulder you seem to carry around with you in most posts.
This will not be Mike’s first post retirement return to SK racing.

  7. “The heart says guys like Gunning, Mike Sr,, Pearl or Pennink but they’re too old to race for the win”.

    You tell Mike Sr that.

No chip, maybe your a little sensitive 😊?

  8. The question:
“Which Former SK Mod Champion Would You Like To See Racing At Stafford On June 12?”
    My response.
“The heart says guys like Gunning, Mike Sr,, Pearl or Pennink but they’re too old to race for the win and in Penninks case needs to stay clear of driving to protect that back.”
    Earls response in another thread.
” Will he (Mike Sr) win? Maybe not but, we will see. I am sure he will give it everything he’s got and glad to see him back in a fire suit specially racing against Jr.'”

You’re picking a fight Earl when we essentially agree. Age and rust matter in the ultra competitive SK field that will be at the top of their games for this race. You know age and rust matter just as much as I do. You know the odds of Mike Sr competing for the win or even in the top 5 are really long. You’re happy to see him there and I will be as well but that was never my point and you dad gum well know it.
. It isn’t a points race so I’m hoping he has Mike Jr’s Stafford SK so he has the best machine available. He’ll need it.
Now if you want to bust my chops stay tuned. I said he couldn’t be competitive at the front of the field. Even though you essentially agree feel free to start busting my chops right after the race if he does compete like he did 40 years ago.
My view in the head to head in the era Ted and Mike raced together Mike was more strategic and a far better driver. Ted was a hammer always looking for a nail. In my view if Mike Sr could by some miracle compete in the top 5 in this race at his age and having been away from it for so long it would be off the Richter scale in terms of beating the odds. The ultimate invader. Not from a different track but from a different century.
There is no good old college try here. It’s a Christopher and if he’s strapping in he’s not doing it for a moral victory he’s going to want to be relevant at the front at some point in the race..
Thanks Earl you got me fired up for this race that I was not planning on taking very seriously on a huge night of racing. I’m on board now and we will be revisiting this later you can count on it.
Finally I think it was very rude of you not answering my question about the scales. So what happened to them anyway?
    Cheers.

  9. if i remember right, the average age of the field is around 60, i think mikey will fit right in! on the other hand, i’m thinkin these guys are likely to wind up beatin and bangin for dramatic effect. just my 2 cents.

  10. Chuck,
The average age of the SK Modified field at Stafford Speedway isn’t anywhere near 60.
