Whelen Modified Tour And Xfinity Series Qualifying Cancelled At NHMS 

It seems weather will be the overriding theme of the NASCAR Cup Series weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. 

On Friday NASCAR officials announced the first weather related scheduled change in moving the Whelen Modified Tour Mohegan Sun 100 from a 6:30 pm starting time on Saturday to a 10 a.m. start. 

Later Friday NASCAR was forced to scrap qualifying for both the Whelen Modified Tour and the Xfinity Series for both division’s events on Saturday. 

The Xfinity Series SciAps 200 is scheduled for a 3:30 pm start on Saturday. 

Three-time Whelen Modified Tour champion Justin Bonsignore will start 25th in his Xfinity Series debut driving for Joe Gibbs Racing. Former Whelen Modified Tour winner Glen Reen will start 35th.

Ryan Preece was fastest in Whelen Modified Tour practice Friday.

Reigning Whelen Modified Tour champion and current points leader Ron Silk will lead the field to green for the Mohegan Sun 100 with Bonsignore on the outside of the front row. Click here for the full starting lineup for the Mohegan Sun 100.
